Cockroaches are a very common pest to find around your property. There are numerous types of cockroaches and most of them can spread diseases by transporting microbes on their body surfaces, which can potentially be dangerous to humans especially around the kitchen or food storage areas. 

Generally, you will find cockroaches in warmer and humid environments which is why you will often see a rise in areas with access to food, crumbs and food spills. Cockroaches generally like to hide in places like the kitchen, pantries, kitchen cupboards as well as underneath sinks, fridges and even the garden!

The best way to get rid of cockroaches is to keep your areas clean at all times with no food crumbs, spills or leftovers out in the open.

The American cockroach is attracted to alcohol such as beer.
They are very fast, making movements of 1.5m per second which is the equivalent to a human sprinting at 320km/h!
